Position Summary
STOOS Consulting is seeking M&E and Research Field Managers for short-term consultancies in multiple African countries. These professionals will play a critical role in supporting ongoing and upcoming projects, including program evaluations, research studies, and independent monitoring assignments.
The Field Manager will be responsible for recruiting and training field researchers, coordinating data collection activities, managing field logistics, ensuring adherence to local protocols, and maintaining data quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, and manage field researchers for data collection activities.
- Oversee logistics and planning for fieldwork, including securing necessary permissions and ensuring security compliance.
- Supervise field teams to ensure timely, high-quality data collection.
- Translate collected data into local languages as required for reporting and analysis.
- Establish and maintain strong communication and collaboration with local stakeholders, including government agencies and NGOs.
- Prepare comprehensive field reports and support data management processes, including coding and translation where applicable.
Ideal Candidate Profile
STOOS Consulting is looking for highly skilled professionals with a strong background in field research, monitoring, and evaluation. The successful candidate should demonstrate:
- Extensive experience in managing data collection and field operations, particularly in complex or challenging environments.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills with local stakeholders, including government authorities and civil society organizations.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and training capabilities.
- Fluency in English and the local language(s) of the country of application (mandatory). Proficiency in French is an asset.
- Proven ability to conduct data translation, coding, and analysis.
Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency in English (both written and spoken).
- Previous experience in data collection, field coordination, or research project management (highly desirable).
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to navigate complex field environments.
